All that Agency Window needs is:
- a computer running Microsoft Windows 10, 8,1, 8 or 7 with the minimum hardware requirements being;
- an Intel i3 5th generation processor or AMD equivalent;
- 4GB of RAM;
- 128GB drive (SSD preferred);
- Wired or wireless connectivity;
- one or more display screens;
- a connection to the internet;
- a mouse and keyboard;
The Computer
If your intention is to drive no more than 3 screens, we would highly recommend using an Intel NUC for your computer.
Microsoft Windows allows any number of screens to be attached to a computer and it is the hardware that is the primary limiting factor.
Most video cards support up to 2 screens and for the majority of Agency Window installations, this will be sufficient.
If you are looking at utilising more than 2 screens for Agency Window, you will need to get appropriate hardware to fit your requirements. There are plenty of resources out there on the web to help and guide you to choose the hardware best to fit your needs. Here are a few to get you started:
- why-use-one-monitor-when-you-can-have-three - a good starting point to understand what you can and can't do and how to configure windows;
- monitor-setup-with-three-four-or-more-displays - another useful resource to get you started;
The Screens
Probably the most important hardware to consider is what monitors\screens to use as this is what your customers see. You can go for small screens with each one showing a single window of your properties:
Or you can utilise a large TV screen and configure Agency Window to split it into sections (maximum of 6)
Size is not the only factor to look at and you should consider some; if not all; of the following factors in deciding upon what to use:
- the type of screens;
- computer monitor;
- TV screen;
- projector;
- the position of the screens;
- the potential for reflective light on the screens, from direct sunlight or reflected from across the street for example;
- where the screens will sit in relation to the computer and what cable lengths you will require;
- whether mounts are required and what type of mounts;
- wall;
- ceiling;
- what VESA standard to use;
- the type of connections available on the screen and what your computer currently has;
- VGA;
- DVI;
- HDMI;
- DisplayPort;
A mouse and keyboard
You'll need these initially to install Agency Window, however after Agency Window is installed you could remove them as they shouldn't be required if you have enabled Automatic Updates
Your screens once installed will (hopefully) be facing outside and possibly a distance away from the computer, meaning a wired keyboard and mouse will not generally work. The easy solution is to use a wireless keyboard and mouse combination like this one
